"WOW" what a game. Back and forth, up and down, dunks, momentum changing shots, everything but a "W" for the home team.
That's what the Bearcat's did tonight against Tyrone as they dropped a heart breaker 46-45. Not for lack of effort, not for lack a hitting foul shots, simply a short stretch in the 4th period where Huntingdon had 6 consecutive turnovers in which Tyrone converted into just enough points to earn the victory. Tyrone started hot, shooting 3 for 4 from the arc in the 1st quarter with Crabtree shooting the lights outs. Tyrone's defense was intense and aggressive as their offense played very efficient as they shot over 50% for the night. The rebounding totals were 29-27 in favor of Huntingdon.
Huntingdon played with emotion, aggressiveness and motivation tonight
unlike any other game I've seen this year. Crabtree led the Eagles with 23 points with Charles adding 10 rebounds. Huntingdon was led by Senior Ralph Zoerner with 16 points including 3 from long range. Huston Riley added 10 rebounds of his own. Freshman Nate Gearhart added 12 points in playing an outstanding night of basketball.
Huntingdon's junior varsity dropped a 37-33 decision with Gearhart leading the Cat's with 20 points.
Huntingdon's 9th grade dropped a 32-27 decision with Hudson Spec leading the way with 7 points.The 7th/8th grade team earned a win.
