Huntingdon played
an away game this evening against Philipsburg. The Cat's jumped out to
an early 17-4 first quarter mark with Ritchey netting 13 points himself.
Huntingdon had zero turnovers in the first period. Philipsburg was
limited on it's shot attempts and had trouble finding iron early on.
Huntingdon held a 38 to 23 advantage on the glass.Huntingdon carried a 23-11 edge heading into halftime. Sloppy play marred the 2nd half for both squads as PO began to crawl back into the scoring column. As the 4th quarter progressed, Philipsburg cut the Cat's lead to under 5 but did not get any closer as the Cat's rallied and held on for the 40-32 win. This is the second win in as many games for the Cat's who now head to Penns Valley this Friday night.
Huntingdon was led by Senior Ryan Ritchey with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Both Neyman and Zoerner pulled 10 boards apiece. Philipsburg was paced by Cole Curtis with 11 points.
In the junior varsity game, Josh Foster finished with 9 points while Claar and Neyman added 7 points each to lead the Cat's over Philipsburg by a score of 42-30.
The junior high teams split with the 7th-8th grade team earning a 32-20 win (Stratton scored 10) with the 9th grade team dropping a 32-23 decision (Montgomery scored 7)
All teams are back in action this Friday, January 20 with a showdown with Penns Valley.
