"Desire, poise, want", that's what a team does, no matter what the record or score is . That's exactly what Huntingdon did last night in a losing effort to Central Mountain. There was no towel thrown in tonight as Huntingdon hustled and fought to the very end of the game.
After the first period, the Cat's led 10-6 and could have been better had some chippies found their mark. However, they did not and Central began to use Cole Renninger, who's 24 points and 8 rebounds led the Wildcats. Huntingdon was led by Zoerner with 11 points. Riley pulled down 9 rebounds as Huntingdon controlled the boards 34-29.
The breaking point for Huntingdon was late in the 4th period at the 3:00 minute mark and down 1 point. The Cat's committed 3 straight turnovers that Central turned into 8 points.
Huntingdon's junior varsity lost a disappointing game 58-35 with Gregg Kurtz leading the Cat's with 8 points.
Huntingdon's 9th grade team dropped a 32-29 decision earlier in the evening at the junior high school. Shane Montgomery and Hudson Spec added 9 points each for Huntingdon.
The varsity teams are in action at home this coming Monday, February 7 at home with the junior varsity game starting at 6:00 pm.
