Huntingdon, playing in one of its first Christmas Tournaments since playing at Juniata College the past few years, visited Bishop Guilfoyle to play in the 2011 Jim Ellis Shootout, however, lost a hard fought 49-45 decision.
BG maintained a 7 point lead throughout most of the contest as T. Irwin scored a game high 12 points for the Marauders and Denning scored 9 points.
Huntingdon closed the gap to 2 points on a steal and layup by Sophomore Devon Claar late in the 4th quarter but could get no closer. BG shot very well at the free throw line and continued their aggressive defensive approach.
Huntingdon's 6'3" Senior Cody Neyman had the first double double of his career while scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 boards, Houston Riley scored 11, Ralph Zoerner added 9 points and Claar chipped in with 6 points for the Cats.
Huntingdon will now play Fairview on Thursday December 29 at 4:00 pm in the consolation match.
The Cats will next be back in league action next Friday January 6, 2012 at Bald Eagle.
