2011/2012 BEARCAT BOYS BASKETBALL GAME RECAPS

1/16/12, HUNTINGDON @ THE BELLEFONTE RED RAIDERS.

Huntingdon ended it's 8 game losing streak by beating the Red Raiders on their home court 62-55, the difference, a full almost healthy roster. Huntingdon was led by Senior Houston Riley with a game high 18 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, Zoerner chipped in with 17 points and Ritchey added 15 points. Bellefonte was led by Kowalchuk with 19 points while Jarvis added 12 points. Jarvis score 20 points in the game played last week leading Bellefonte to the win.

Huntingdon's main objective tonight was to not allow a team to jump out early, thereby having to attempt a furious comeback late in the game. The Cat's did just that by staying within a point either way throughout 3 quarters. In the 4th quarter, Huntingdon was able to maintain a 5-7 point lead thanks to better than average foul shooting.

Senior Houston Riley, back in action for the first time in two (2) games finally looked healthy and directed a quicker Bearcat squad. Riley manned up on Bellefonte's Jarvis most of the night limiting the Raider to 12 points. Riley also used his quickness in the paint to "clean up the trash". The win moves Huntingdon to 3-8 on the season.

The junior varsity dropped a 48-45 decision to Bellefonte with Lovett scoring 16 points and Robinson adding 11 points.

The junior high team won a 46-27 decision led by Kobren Frederick's 13 points.

All teams are in action this Wednesday at Phillipsburg.
