2011/2012 BEARCAT BOYS BASKETBALL GAME RECAPS
 
Friday January 6, 2012 Huntingdon Bearcats at Bald Eagle.

On this night, Huntingdon started slow and finished slow as Bald Eagle pounded out a 75-22 on their home floor. Huntingdon, currently on a 5 game skid had no answer for the intensity and hustle provided by Bald Eagle. Huntingdon has now fell to 2-5 on the season and 2-2 in the division as the Eagles went to an impressive 6-2 mark for the year.

Ralph Zoerner led the Cat attack with 27 points including 5 three point tallies. Senior Cody Neyman again led the team in rebounds with 12. Dennis Fisher paced the Eagles with 18 points and 12 boards. Huntingdon committed 32 turnovers and attempted less free throw attempts (15) then Bald Eagle made (21).

Huntingdon will play this coming week at home three times, Monday (Central Mountain), Wednesday (Central) and Friday (Bellefonte) while they attempt to improve on their win totals.

The Huntingdon junior varsity squad, now 4-1 on the year, jumped out to a 10 point lead, but then fell behind late in the 4th quarter by as many as 9 points. With under a minute and down three, Devon Claar nailed a three point shot with an assist from Greg Kurtz and tied the game at 49. Josh Neyman then converted a short lay up to put the Cats up by 2 points, 51-49 and that's how the game ended. Nate Gearhart led all scorers with 19 points, Josh Neyman tallied 11 and Claar added 8 in the winning effort.

The 9th grade team lost a 45-26 game to the Eagles while the 7th and 8th grade team prevailed 38-15. Matthew Sellers totaled 10 points for the "B" team in it's victory.
